CFN fellates Tebow, Florida, and the SEC something fierce.
Guys, nobody in Baton Rouge would even have the stones to say that LSU is the 12th best team, or playing the 12th best, or whatever cockamamie criteria Fiutak & Co. are concocting to prop up the SEC. It's just idiotic.
Missouri #9 after squeaking past Baylor? Georgia #10? South Carolina #14? Virginia #18?
Maybe they're just being intentionally provocative or outright insane in order to get goobers like me to link to their site and ratchet up the hit count. Whatever. CFN sucks today.

aren't they on the Scout network now? wonder if that has anything to do with it.
also, Michael Crabtree is the man. that is all.
I kind of agree and disagree at the same time. I agree that it's ludicrous to have some teams where they are (i.e. UF and OU -- down three spots??), but I also like when pollsters are a little unconventional. The AP is way too rigid and favors off-season favorites way too heavily. That is one of the reasons I like the blogpoll so much, because it has much more volatility, a la a power ranking poll. At least the CFN poll makes light of the fluidity by giving reasoning for each team to be higher and/or lower than where they have them.
almost as dumb as Cal#21 MD#23...
I'm all for a little unconventional (that's why I love the Blog Poll), but there's unconventional and then there's blind homerism/idiocy.
Lee-
I have no qualms with Cal and MD where they are. After about #15 or #16, you could make a case for about 25 teams to be at #16-#25.
I know that MD beat Cal, but the Terps losing to Middle Tennessee and 31-zip at UVA erase head-to-head arguments.
How can you erase head to head arguments when one team plays in the second toughest conference top to bottom and the other plays in a conference that should be replaced in the BCS by the WAC?
And if you watched the game the score wasn't indicitive of how MD beat Cal down. The game was over at halftime. That said I will root whole heartedly for Cal to beat USC and win the Pac 10 and keep them from sneaking into the most undersving BCS championship game of all time USC vs Penn State... Ugh...
I remember the Cal-MD game well. The Terps dominated until mid-4thQ. And you have a good point about Cal being in a weak league vs. MD in the ACC. But two words just kinda throw all of that out the window: Middle Tennessee. That's as bad a loss as any BCS conference has had this year.
There's still a month to go. MD has a big chance to vault up the polls if they pick the good/capable portion of their personality and stick with it.
Anxiously awaiting the next installment of the OOC report. Don't let that new job hold you down!
