Mercifully Brief Olympic and Pop Culture Observations

---NBA fans may have recognized that Celtics reserve Sam Cassell's Chinese love-child competed in the women's all-around gymnastics final this evening. Cassell-Yang Yilin won the bronze medal after Americans Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson walked away with the gold and silver. Nonetheless, Sammy has to be gushing with pride tonight.

---I happily admit that I've always thought of Alanis Morissette's blubbering as overrated, self-indulgent pap. And now it's been revealed that the inspiration for her psychotic "You Oughta Know" screed was none other than Full House's Dave Coulier. No joke. Mrs. Ed just plummeted several stories on the "hipster cool" (or however the kids say it nowadays) skyscraper.
