NORTH CAROLINA (1-0) at RUTGERS (0-1)
Thursday, 9/11/08, 7:30pm ET - Rutgers Stadium, Piscataway, NJ
Series Record: Rutgers leads 3-0; the Scarlet Knights won the last meeting 21-16 in 2006
Storyline: Round one in the 2008 ACC-Big East challenge.
Brief Overview: After having an extra week to digest their rotgut showing against McNeese State in week one, the Tar Heels should certainly be anxious to hit the field and erase the aftertaste from that nailbiter with the Cowboys. Rutgers looked lackluster in their Monday night loss to Fresno State to open the season ten days ago, and they are most certainly looking to atone for that nationally televised flop. While the Tar Heels should be able to move the ball fairly well against the shaky Knight defense, it's that UNC D that is a concern. McNeese racked up nearly 400 yards against the Heels and held the ball for over 35 minutes; a repeat of that performance will get Carolina run out of the stadium tonight.
Prediction: The Heels' defense just isn't quite there yet, and Thursday nights on the road rarely result in victory. Rutgers 27, North Carolina 23

well so much for that, I guess Rutgers is even worse than anyone could have imagined. That coverage was absolutely horrendous.
If nothing else, it makes us looks better than at least one other major conference.
Wow, glad to be wrong on that one But you're correct about Rutgers - I can't believe how bad they looked. Schiano probably should've bolted when he had the chance.
