I've never been much of a follower of the madness that is college football recruiting. I've been more of a bystander, occasionally checking Rivals and Scout and various message boards to see how schools are doing. The whole process has always pretty much bored me, but over the last few years it has gotten to the point of making me a tad queasy. The way these 17 and 18-year olds are paraded - and the way far too many parade themselves - throughout their senior year of high school is a bit tawdry, and the media industry built around it is equally brazen. But that's just me.
That said, here are the Rivals rankings of the ACC haul at the end of National Signing Day (national ranking in parentheses):
- Miami (4)
- Florida State (7)
- Clemson (12)
- Virginia Tech (18)
- N.C. State (31)
- Maryland (32)
- Boston College (33)
- North Carolina (34)
- Georgia Tech (49)
- Wake Forest (58)
- Virginia (62)
- Duke (66)
